Processed Foods Indisputably Linked to Auto-Immune Disease

by Christina Sarich, Natural Society:

“Great news! Processed food isn’t as bad as you’ve been told!”

How I wish that could be the headline for this article, but microwave meals and processed convenience foods are still killing us softly, as I’ve reported before. This time, the study points to a considerable increase in auto-immune diseases like multiple sclerosis, alopecia, asthma, and eczema.

Whether its junk food from fast-food chains or junk food that is drowning in preservatives from your grocery store, this particular study from Yale University in the U.S and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, as well as another from Harvard, reports that junk food diets are to blame for an increase in these diseases.

Another View: Support accelerated approval for new drug targeting ALS

As I reflect on my life, my proudest achievements or biggest successes have been the result of my willingness to take calculated risks, whether that was leaving my corporate job to start my own business, serving as the elected commissioner of my township, or building my home with my own hands when everyone told me I shouldn’t. My bulbar onset ALS has already made the simple task of swallowing difficult and is impairing my ability to speak. The disease has now progressed to my hands, limiting my grip strength and dexterity. I am still able to move independently and remain in the early stages of the disease’s progression. Nevertheless, for me, the time is now to find a doctor who is willing to work with me, and allow me to participate in a clinical trial. My intent to participate in clinical trials is another calculated risk – one I am more than willing to take with relentless determination to not allow this disease to take my life before I can make a difference in ALS research towards a cure.

I urge you to sign the petition on (visit and search “approve genervon gm604 for all als patients immediately) and follow PALS on Facebook (search “GM604 Breakthrough ALS treatment”). With your support, my hope is the FDA would support the Accelerated Approval Program for GM604. My prayer is that we with ALS will be given an opportunity to try to fight this disease.
