Despite her repeated denials that she would be a presidential contender in 2016, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) continues to gain momentum among liberal activists who see her as the preferred alternative to Hillary Clinton.
But now it seems that Warren — described by The Washington Times as one of the upper chamber’s most active, progressive, and partisan members — could encounter a rival on the far left of the political spectrum, should she decide to run for president.
Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, a socialist, says he’ll decide by March whether to launch a 2016 presidential campaign and, if he does, whether he’ll seek the nomination of the Democrat party.
