THE Best Outdoor Motion Light For Your Home Security

by Ken Jorgustin, Modern Survival Blog:

I have no doubt whatsoever that the RAB ‘Super Stealth’ outdoor motion light is absolutely the best there is for home security.

Why do I say that? Because I have lots of them, and have been completely satisfied for years.

I recently purchased and installed two more of these outdoor motion lights to beef up my home security, and although I already have RAB motion lights from several years ago, I was pleasantly surprised to discover even more improvements to their already stellar product.

Having just read this post I thought I would add my comment to this excellent post. I agree completely with the author regarding the RAB brand security lights and have come to this conclusion with my own research and experience necessitated by problems I was having with Heath brand security lights.

The problem I encountered resulted in my having taken back several defective Heath units only to have the same problem with the replacements prompting me to do a web search looking for a solution.

The problem I encountered was that I often found the lights on in daytime or that they had been on all night instead of turning themselves off. I found the problem was caused by a defect designed into the Heath lights. A Heath security light can be turned on manually and will stay on until the power is interrupted.

This manual operation is accomplished by turning off the light by way of its wall switch and immediately turning it back on. It will then stay on until the power is interrupted. If an induction spike creating device such as an electric motor during start(freezer, fridge, central vac, or light ballast is on the same circuit as the security light it can duplicate the flipping of the light switch which puts it into manual on mode.

I returned all of my problematic Heath lights and replaced them with RAB ending an annoying, time consuming and power wasting problem.
