Obama Admin Wasn’t the only One behind the IRS Targeting of Tea Party Groups – Complaint Claims US Senators as Complicit

by Tim Brown, Freedom Outpost:

Much has been made, and rightly so, about the Obama administration’s targeting of Conservatives and Tea Party groups. There is no doubt that with the information that has come out that the White House and the Internal Revenue Service were orchestrating the targeting of conservative groups. However, now the Center for Competitive Politics has filed a complaint, which claims that Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) along with other Democrat senators sought to deny the free speech of their political opponents by using the IRS.

Bradley A. Smith and David Keating at the Wall Street Journal reports:

On Monday the Center for Competitive Politics filed a complaint with the Senate Select Committee on Ethics against nine U.S. senators: for interfering with IRS tax proceedings; for misusing official resources for campaign purposes; and for improper conduct that reflects poorly upon the Senate. Attempting to use the IRS to advance a partisan, electoral agenda is a fundamental assault on good government. We believe these elected officials have staged such an assault.

If there is ANY basis in this for a charge of treason, I strongly hope that the case will be made and prosecuted to the fullest. Using the power of the US Gov to smother one’s political opponents is what happens in 3rd world / dictatorial countries. There is NO place for it in the US, regardless of what political views one has. Although I despise virtually all of what the left stands for, I strongly defend their right to be as idiotic as they choose. Too bad that they do not feel the same for others whose political ideology differs from theirs. Heh, perhaps this is one of the reasons why they are so sympathetic to those who chop off other people’s heads? They identify with the “my way or the highway” attitude.

Left or right leaning is immaterial, when it comes to ignoring the People’s Constitution. Do you remember it, you know, that old barbaric document that established the boundaries of The People’s Government? It was a restraining order that has been ignored. Can you imagine what a violent husband or stalker would get up to if legally binding restraining order was an immaterial document governing their choices? All politicians can and have used every underhanded means at their disposal to circumvent their oath to the People. They are no longer governing for us as our Representatives. The left and right consider themselves above the law, just like an obsessed wife beater.
