AFTER THE CALL: The Vast Majority Will Face Starvation — Alasdair MacLeod

After our amazing call with writer and researcher Alasdair MacLeod from officially ended, we kept on talking! This bonus conversation includes the entirety of that conversation which covers the very real possible outcomes that may result from a worldwide banking collapse. Alasdair is concerned that the equivalent to a financial WW3 may result in starvation for many, many unprepared people. We wonder, how can we extricate humanity from this debt-based fiat paper monetary scheme without destroying humanity in the process?

Help us spread the ANTIDOTE to corporate propaganda.

Please follow SGT Report on Twitter & help share the message.

I love me a bit of bonus material, especially from such knowledgable chaps like Alasdair, Sean & Rory.

    Thanks guys!

    • SGT

Hey, thanks much Steve D, appreciate the comment(s).

      • Rodster

Sean, so what is the alternative? When asked about a Global SDR (which Brandon Smith of thinks this is all heading, an IMF Global SDR) Alasdir said it’s still based on Fiat currency and ALL Fiat currency will have collapsed.

Will the Chinese and BRICS setup a new currency based on Gold? Will all nations base their currency on Gold? It appears the US sold all their Gold as well as other central banks.

**SIDE NOTE** Christine LeGarde recently spoke at a World Bank forum which it’s posted on Youtube that she realizes that the world needs an economic reset. Things are to far out of balance.

        • Ed_B

“Things are to far out of balance.”

Yes, they are and they tend to get that way because the central banks think that they are smarter than the market, that they can order an economy to be efficient and productive, and that they are incapable of error. They are wrong on all 3 counts.

It has been said that “the government that governs least, governs best”. I suggest that central bank meddling in the national and world economies falls into this category too. Banksters need to realize that, no, they really do not “have to do something” every time the economy burps. Just leaving it be will usually allow it to work out its problems. But, will they do this? No, they always have to get involved and generally make the situation worse by doing so.

The major gold cycle has hit within
a continuation pattern up right now.

        March 21. 2014

Expect major news of an unexpected source.

Buy now. I predicted this cycle many times on
        SGT 23 weeks ago.

It is here now. Worst case is flat before
        rocket takeoff up.

        Buy now, literally. Right now.

Do not sell your gold silver or real
        estate. You will be sorry.

        • Neo

I want to agree with this time/date. March 21-22 is a special date. Skull & Bones 322 (as in March 22nd). Gold price closed the week at 1333. 13 and 33 are special numbers too.

          • Beligerant

I hope you’re correct but the concern is gold is still ruled by the paper derivative market. Experts state there is 60 to 100 oz of paper gold to every 1 oz of real physical gold. I just don’t see how it takes off unless the physical price starts separating from the paper price.

  • MRH

WOW! I am so glad you posted this, Sean, I was afraid it had not made the cut when it wasn’t released with the first part. IMO, this is the good stuff, where we all kinda relaxed and spoke from the heart. Really good stuff!!

  • Spud

    Good overview.

However this was nothing new. People with their eyes wide open 15 years ago saw all what was being talked about as probably coming to pass. Some of them acted and sacrificed while the vast majority still played and spent and bought their toys. These people (grasshoppers) all laughed and made fun of the busy ants.

If this does unfold and food runs out of is beyond the reach of most everyone to afford those that prepped and secured their lot and future will do much better. Odds are their gene pool will survive and take my word for it they will not be feeding anyone else along the way. Pay back is a bitch as the old saying goes….

    • Ed_B

In the real world, Spud, ants EAT grasshoppers so maybe those grasshoppers don’t have to worry about running out of food after all. 😉

      • Spud

        Sadly you are correct;-)
There are many truths and more terrible predictions for those who do not prepare as per what they all read and post about…. I generally do not post those because it does not matter. Fear will never drive one in prepping long enough to see it through. Only self drive will do it and that is the largest component lacking in folks in this country today. Self drive is required in prepping without group support and group encouragement unless you plan on rubbing out those groupies when the show up during a crisis event.
Not to mention the vast under informed public who do not even read this site or others like it!

  • Petedivine

I am shocked at how ignorant my fellow Citizens appear to be. I am very concerned about the future. This is the first time I’ve ever heard Aliasdair speak about financial collapse and the accompanying collapse of society. I see U.S. troubles accelerating and I see national competitors start to really push around the U.S. on the global stage. Russia, China, and their allies openly defy U.S. Policy. We appear to be weak, petty, and on the decline to our global neighbors. I think the reserve currency is at risk. Russia is daring the U.S. to escalate the Ukranian situation, and the world is watching. No matter how the Ukraine situation resolves damage has already been done to the Dollar hegemony. In today’s news I read that China was aggressively pushing around the Phillippines over an island in the South China Sea. The U.S. Needed to reiterate its support for the Philippine alliance. Obviously, China and Russia sense U.S. Weakness and are pressing the U.S. They are daring the U.S to give them the excuse to openly escalate and to the victor goes the spoils. They obviously feel like the advantage rests with Russia and China. They have the energy, resources and the manufacturing strength to potentially destroy the dollar and back their currencies with hard assets. Yet most Americans have no idea what is really going on. Unbelievable.

    • Ed_B

It is possible for reasonable people to look at the same data and come to different conclusions. While I agree that the SHTF scenario put forth in this interview is certainly possible, it is not the only one that is. I can see the US becoming much more internalized in its outlook. I can see food being grown locally and people buying it via barter and perhaps some silver or copper money. Long chains of just-in-time manufacturing and supply will end because they are too easily disrupted by events beyond the control of those running them and require too much cheap transportation that will disappear as well. I can see a MUCH greater interest in people growing their own food, even on small plots of land in town. Others who live in apartments will start growing salad veggies in pots on their decks and patios. Growing peppers, tomatoes, onions, cukes, and a few other plants is easily done and VERY worthwhile. Not only are these delicious but they also make good bartering stock. A great deal will depend on how local communities handle the coming [email protected] Those that band together, help each other, and work together WILL get through this. Those that come apart at the seams will not. Communities with a strong sense of patriotism and religion will stand the best change of survival. A great deal of faith will be needed to overcome the difficulties and deprivation that we all will face. Having family, friends, and neighbors that will work together, pray together, and face danger together will be what decides who makes it and who does not, IMO. That’s my story and I am sticking with it. 🙂

      • Spud

Unless you ever tried to grow enough food to feed a family of four for “all year” you will find growing food locally is not happening. It requires a lot of land, time, water and time and protection from thieves. Higher density area just do not have the land, time water and will be ripped off every night. You can not have an off sight job and still grow that much food.

  • Sheryl Anne

Great interview SGT. You are a class act and so is Alister – he is as nice as he
    sounds and very smart.

  • Spud

Correct on the USA being tested in may areas. We have and are following the same failures of the Romans and other nations with their few hundred year domination of the world. They all collapsed and many were conquered and overhauled so to speak.

    We are broke…
We are in a huge un-payable mountain of debt…
We are over extended around the world and never should be there…
We have made so many promises we never have kept and never will our credibility is shot….
We very own nation has trillions upon trillions of deferred infrastructure maintenance and rot from coast to coast….
We have a huge amount of citizens here with no hope of real hope of what was once a future here….
We have a huge portion depending on tax payers to feed them, house them, give them cell phones and birth control, etc.
We have FIAT money being printed daily with nothing to justify it’s real worth….
The Romans did the very same thing with their coins….
We are screwed and the charade will not last, never has never will.

The few have stockpiled and have developed semi remote defensible locations to weather out the darkness which is coming. Their odds of surviving are much better but never guaranteed. Unless you have a large amount of credit or cash it is almost impossible to afford to prepare now. Even then 99.5% will still do nothing as history has proven over and over. All the nice pod cast and personalities etc will mean nothing when your food pot is empty, your house has no heat and you are dying….

A word to the wide is sufficient

  • lastmanstanding

If currency collapses world wide, how quickly do you really think these scum will get the sdr set up? Isn’t the sdr a bis wet dream?

If anyone thinks that they can set this up seamlessly (dollar/others down, sdr immediately in)…you may as well end it now. Within 3 days, the losers of society will be insane. (I am speaking of here in the US). The rest of the world knows how the barter system works. Most Americans still wouldn’t know what/how to barter if they looked it up in the dictionary. (oh sorry, Wikipedia!)

Starvation happens to those who cannot fast track the ability to gather their own food and water. That is how it works.

Oh, except here in the US where, “The American way of life cannot be compromised” or whatever psycho dick said. (sarc) The sheep have it coming. They have wasted enough of the earths resources. Hell, maybe I have…I’ll get what I deserve. I’m ok with that. Most of us here have kicked, scratched, clawed, slaved for what we have and there is no way we will be leaving the earth “their” way.

MRH, the global community is/will be finished…good riddance. Globalism was NEVER, EVER in the earth’s plan. Just another psychopathic dream that needs to be sent back to hell with them.

I’m so far gone from this paradigm that I can’t even see it in the rearview mirror.

Gentlemen, nice job as usual…to the rest of you…we don’t need their system.

“don’t go down without one helluva fight”

    • Ed_B

Lastman… I understand the anger and bitterness in your comments but do not necessarily agree with it all… most, probably, but not all. If you think that Americans do not know what barter or dickering is, you should try going to a flea market, bazaar, or yard / garage sale. If you do, you will see plenty of both. Lots of people know how these work and relish getting a better deal than is originally offered. Ever buy a used car or truck? Same thing. Americans have many skills in the art of deal making. Yes, a lot of them are rusty from lack of use but there is nothing like some hard times to knock that rust right off and sharpen up those skills. It will happen, too. Hunger is a persuasive teacher and one that is not easily satisfied with mediocre performance. It does not give any grades of “C”. One succeeds nicely or one simply does not make it.

But I agree strongly that a lot of people simply will not make it through the coming SHTF time. They will not make it for the simple reason that they have not prepared for an extended time period of deprivation. Survival depends on many things. Skills, certainly, but also an inner strength and toughness that simply refuses to give up. This is well below the surface in many Americans, as it has been 3 generations since this country knew any real pain over an extended time period of months or years. It is there, though it sleeps. It will awaken when times become so hard that it simply must. It will not awaken in time to save many, however.

The 1st 30 days will take a heavy toll on people who are unprepared and who cannot long survive when the electricity shuts off, the stores are empty, the police and fire people have run off to be with their families, and no part of the banking system works. Water will be a critical supply. So will having the means to purify water, as sewage will quickly pollute most surface water in urban areas.

The next 60 days is the mid-point time. These will be the people who have food and water or have found ways to get them. They are hardier than the ones who died in the 1st 30 days, so can be significant threats to our own survival. Competition for food, water, meds, fuel, and weapons will be significant during this time. Being surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors who will help each other and watch each other’s backs will be critically important.

After about 90 days, all those who cannot survive a SHTF situation will be gone. This will be the end time when people can once again start interacting with each other in some modicum of safety. People will barter with each other to fill gaps in their supplies. Others will be growing food from seeds and bartering that for the things they need that others have. This is the time when silver and copper will be of use in bartering.

In all this, faith can be a powerful ally. Those who have faith and courage will have an advantage over those who do not. I do not espouse any particular religion to others but hope that most people will have a religion that enlightens and uplifts them. When times seem most bleak, that is when having faith can make all the difference.

At some point, government will rear its grotesque head and start sniffing around for people to exploit. Resist this urge, if at all possible. One of the best cures for this urge is to put those who seek to set up a government to work doing something productive with their time and energy.

A very small government, such as a neighborhood council, and a few rules (think the 10 commandments) that keep our baser nature in check is all that is really needed. Everything above this is mere exploitation of one person or group for the benefit of others… and that path definitely leads to The Dark Side.

Whether or not the US and / or the world at large survives the coming SHTF time is unknown. But those who are prepared in any degree will have a better chance than those who have not. Estimates vary but there seem to be about 3M preppers in the US. This is about 1% of the US population. While we are few in number, we are big in the simple skills that are needed to survive. We cannot bring the country back from the brink by ourselves but we can show others what they need to know and do in order to survive. That is our purpose… to guide and to teach that which we know and that others need more than they now know. Peace, Brother.

Hi Ed…I have bartered my entire life and I negotiate every project that I am asked to build. While a small percentage of Americans understand bartering, I would say 90% don’t know shit about it. Not to mention the fact that they have zero skills and nothing saved away for a crappy day or year to trade. They will be on the offensive to get what they need without remorse. They will get what they deserve.

We have several awesome farm markets and an incredible local farm food, local food set up. I grow and can most of my own food. My starts are in the greenhouse and I will have seeds in the ground this weekend. I by all my meat local. I don’t buy meat in grocery stores. Pork, chicken, lamb and a little beef and an elk all from within 20 miles fill our coffers.

While I agree that some Americans are resilient, a majority are not. Most would have no idea what to do if govt did not exist or hand them our money on a routine basis.

We have 2 businesses and NO ONE dumps anything into them on a regular basis unless we are productive and provide quality service. Brother, most don’t want to help anyone…they just want.

They are about to be repelled.

Thanks for your reply…Peace to you brother.

        • Spud

You sound much like us. Our green house seeds will be a bit later than yours. Sounds like with Elk you could be in the Rockies as well….We do a lot of barter and have for years and years and years. Big brother is left out in the cold and knows zero 😉

However good pre-planning should result in the need NOT to need to trade/barter or dicker. All those options will bring risk of death during any crisis event. We just feel it is better to have what you need and want before hand and lay low, remote and self sustaining. Venturing outside the perimeter can easily result in an empty bunk that evening.

I’m not in any real position to pretend like I know, however I tend to doubt there will be a complete collapse/failure of all these currencies. A serious restructure and revaluing of them, sure, but to think that they are just all gone one day and we start fresh from barter and then create new currencies seems too much of a stretch for me.

There will likely be a new standard and all currencies will have to be tied to real assets in order to compete with one another. If even one major currency was redeemable in something real, well it might be very difficult for other currencies to maintain any value without the same….Major losses in purchasing power and then a new (backed) currencies to redeem for perhaps.

With the global economy being the size that it is and the amounts of physical gold and silver that exist (per person, assuming the “real” numbers are somewhat accurate and there isnt an overabundance somehow) it would be hard to see a gold/silver backed currency that was fully redeemable at any amount. I would guess there would be a significant minimum in currency needed to get a small amount of gold or silver…hence the strong revaluation upwards of the real bullion.

    Just a guess.

  • CalsailX

We’ll get the internet back up as soon as possible after SHTF just so I can find the one moron out there that will still swap something for my Federal Reserve Notes.

History is full of periods where calamity struck and lives were lost in the hundreds of thousands. Don’t think that the worst cannot happen, because it often does and I bet no one ever saw it coming.

……Once there lived a group of (Prepper) ants and a grasshopper in a grassy meadow.
    (Prepper vs non-prepper)

All day long the (prepper) ants would work hard, collecting grains of wheat from the farmer’s field far away. She/he would hurry to the field every morning so as soon as it was light enough to see by they would toil back with a heavy grains of wheat balanced on their heads. The (prepper) ants would put the grains of wheat carefully away in their larder, and then hurry back to the field for another one. Other guard ants… worked all day to fortify the larder area for the terrible and hard times to come…All day long they would work, without stop or rest, scurrying back and forth from the field, collecting the grains of wheat and storing them carefully in their larder.

The grasshopper would look at them and laugh. “Why do you work so hard, dear ants?’” he would say. ‘Come, rest awhile, listen to my song. Summer is here, the days are long and bright. Why waste the sunshine in labor and toil?’

The ants would ignore him and with heads bent, would just hurry to the field a little faster. This would make the grasshopper laugh even louder. “What a silly little ants (preppers) you are!” he would call after them. ‘Come, come and dance with me! Forget about work! Enjoy the summer! Live a little!’ And the grasshopper would hop away across the meadow, singing and dancing merrily.

Summer faded into autumn, and autumn turned into winter. {The crisis event came}….. The sun was hardly seen, and the days were short and grey, the nights long and dark. It became freezing cold, and snow began to fall.

The grasshopper didn’t feel like singing any more. He was cold and hungry. He had nowhere to shelter from the snow, and nothing to eat. The meadow and the farmer’s field were covered in snow, and there was no food to be had. “Oh what shall I do? Where shall I go?” wailed the grasshopper. Suddenly he remembered the ants. “Ah – I shall go to the ants and ask them for food and shelter!” declared the grasshopper, perking up. So off he went to the ant’s house and knocked at their door the…(guarded outer perimeter gate). “Hello ants!” he cried cheerfully. “Here I am, to sing for you, as I warm myself by your fire, while you get me some food from that larder of yours!”

The ants looked at the grasshopper (through the ant’s 3×9 rifle scopes) and said, “All summer long we worked hard while you made fun of us, and sang and danced. You should have thought of winter then! Find somewhere else to sing, grasshopper! There is no warmth or food for you here!” And the ants shut the door (told the grasshopper to go and if he ever came back again they would shoot him and eat him and took off their safety’s) in the grasshopper’s surprised face.

It is wise to worry about tomorrow today. It is yet wise to prepare for it now. Shit happens and it will be better to be the ant teamed up with other ants….. than to be grasshoppers because the ants will not give a damn about the starving dying hoppers.

A word to wise is sufficient. Read and weep that.

    • Spud

      Nice read.

He forgot a few things though…. Just pull the GRID down via any number of ways and all the computers and math and equations are out the window. The more modern our society becomes the more we depend on electricity to do just about everything to keep us alive. In turn we for the most part give up the pre electricity knowledge and skills which will be needed to survive. They can not be learned in the dark 😉 As mankind and your desperate neighbors without hope will be in the dark and it will get ugly faster than you could read the scientific essay above.

I also hope the fella who penned the essay put as much effort into storing bullets, beans and band-aids as he did the read. From what he wrote he would need years of stuff and a secured location to use in from. Regardless it matter little what he has done, right?

What really only matters is what you have done….

Starving people = revolution = 99.9% liklihood of a very bad outcome

Loved the candid conversation, Alasdair, Rory and Sean. (Alasdair Macleod is a damn cool name. Reminds me of Highlander. Perhaps he wields a fine sword in battle?)

Thank you united crap for destroying the world and killing millions .
Time to pay the bills .

I will be glad to see the united crap turns into a scattered land of states ,

    taste it .

Its funny to hear people talking about religion and guns and prepping and threatening people who are starving to death with shooting them . I will like to be there at the gates when Saint Peter sends your ass down to hell. Jesus said to help those who need help. not when it is convenient , but when they need help. If there is a shtf scenario then we will find out who the followers of Christ are and who are not!!

    • Paul

Get off the religious BS……Christ if he really ever existed said sell your cloak & buy a sword. He called the Canaanite woman (a gentile) a dog. He came to fufill the laws of the old testament prophets not destroy them. As an Essene he opposed the Pharisees method of attaining Zionist world power. Those who follow the Abrahamic god & the bible script have been duped into supporting this evil plan.

PS- The kingdom of heaven is within there is no st peter at a gate.

  • Spud

Sounds like you (jsq) area grasshopper trying to place the guilt on the preppers who did the work rather than the grasshoppers who played the days away.
My first commandment from God is to get my own house in order. Then to serve and protect my wife. By bringing fools to my location my house will be ruined and my wife will die from starvation.

So if you ever come to my outer gates trying to play that guilt trip on us we will send you to the pearly gates and you can explain why you failed to get your home in order and protect your own family.

You feel so wrapped up in helping the endless needy then take your stored goods if you have any and feed them now as they are hungry right now.

The US Dollar could collapse tomorrow and do you know what it will be replaced with?

…The US DOLLAR! So it can happen seamlessly. The difference in all the US dollars that have existed in the last 110 years is:

1st American Dollar back 100% by gold, $20 an OZ

2nd American Dollar Quasi backed by gold at $35/OZ (Foreign Reserves only).

3rd American Dollar back by you and me and our credit worthiness aka NOTHING.

4th American Dollar back by the IMF SDR not sure at what percentage..TBD.

I think the transition will be seamless however I do think real assets will go way up simply because the SDR is BS paper as well. The IMF will be just a new fed with the power to print only this time there really be one world currency..Although every country will still have whatever they call money. So the illusion remains…However the man behind the curtain will no longer be an American.

  • Mike F.

“I think the transition will be seamless however I do think real assets will go way up simply because the SDR is BS paper as well” The way the governments run things you think for a moment that it will be seamless? Yes, a seamless clusterfuck as a majority of Americans starve after most of the food has been looted within a week.

How many soldiers with tanks, armored personal carriers and attack helicopters can police the millions of square miles in America? Answer—not enough in the whole world to keep the peace when the savings and investments of millions go poof and either stolen or devalued by 75%. EBT cards and social welfare cut off -there is no way in hell, that they can keep a lid on this especially in the urban areas of major cities where the local police dare to go. You better be armed to the teeth, have water, food, medical supplies, personal hygiene care items and anything else you could need at your home. It will be way to dangerous to venture out after a couple days. Hunker down in your home and wait it out until the most of the rats have died.
