Obama Aide Blames Obama’s Slide in Polls on Shutdown, Rollout

“Public polls are a little bit all over the map,” White House Senior Adviser Dan Pfeiffer told NBC’s “Meet the Press” with David Gregory on Sunday.

He was brushing off a recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll that put President Obama’s overall job approval at 41 percent, a new low for him. It also showed that support for president is slipping among Democrats.

“I’ve looked at a lot of data, and let me tell you what we see,” Pfeiffer said. There’s no question that everyone in Washington, the president included, took a big hit from the double-whammy of a shutdown and the problems of We have stabilized and we’re working our way back. And if you look at the aggregate of public polling, we’ve gained three points in the last couple of months. But there’s no question we have more work to do.”
