The Globalization of “Fast Food”. Behind the Brand: McDonald’s

by GlobalResearch, via,

Chances are that you have had a McDonald’s meal in the past or if not, you certainly know a lot of people who have. It’s the biggest fast food chain in the world, with 32,000 outlets in 117 countries. The clown-fronted burger outfit employs a staggering 1.7 million people, and in the first three months of 2011 alone it made $1.2bn in profits on the back of revenues of $6.1bn. The company has come in for huge amounts of criticism over the past 20 years, for the impact it has on the diets of people worldwide, its labour practices and the impact its business has had on the environment. From Fast Food Nation to Supersize Me by the way of the McLibel trials of the 1990s, plenty has been written and broadcast to tarnish the golden arches’ shine.

McDonalds food taste like shit. Even my kids hate it.

I have been to a lot of countries and these parasites have outlets in most all of them… I think that a recent victory for the people was in central America (not sure of the exact country) where Mickey was operating at a loss just to maintain a presence there (they do that a lot) but the people refused to eat their crap so they finally shut down and left…

I ate at Rotton Ronnies a few times in the 1980’s and was disgusted by the filler by-products in the chicken nuggets…they were horrible looking inside them, and tasted bad. I know a lot of people that quit going there, because you feel “trashy” being seen there.

Stopped eating there after seeing Supersize Me. Strangely though I do miss the unique flavor of those little pieces of onion type food mixed with ketchup and pickle on top of their cheeseburger substitute offering.
