FLEEING WITH FAMILY
I’m a Mom who refuses to stick her head in the sand. Last year I demanded that our family go on an “investigation vacation”. We packed our bags and took our two teens to Ecuador for 16 days. During that time we met a man who gave us a copy of “confessions of an economic hitman” – the eye-opening irony of being in the very country the storyline/true events were based and seeing in real time, the aftermath of economic slavery unfolding was surreal at best.
I’m kidding, of course. Certainly, I feel there is sometimes space for authority in our lives. A mother might not let her child, for example, cross the street at the wrong place and/or time. The child might want to, but by disallowing this, you could save the child from being hit by oncoming traffic.
