One of the more stimulating highlights of the recent Owner’s Event here was an afternoon seminar featuring the founding partners of La Estancia, Dr. Juan Carlos Romero, a senior senator here in Argentina, and Doug Casey.
Dr. Romero gave a brief but interesting update on where things stand here in Argentina, summed up as:
- The government’s highly dysfunctional model is broken and being widely repudiated, though the national government will continue to try and push forward with it because they really don’t have any other ideas.
- Inflation will worsen next year, which is bad for the Argentines but good for those of us who are not peso-based. Things will continue to deteriorate until the next elections in 2015, when the administration will be replaced.
