Carrington Class: “The World Escaped an EMP Catastrophe”

by Mac Slavo, SHTFPlan:

According to researchers at EMPact America, an organization dedicated to studying and preparing for the possibility of large-scale electro magnetic pulse threats that can destroy our modern day electrical infrastructure, the earth came dangerously close to a serious destabilization event. A couple of weeks ago the sun emitted a massive CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) that, had it been earth-directed, would likely have wiped out critical portions of the world’s power grid and sent developed nations back to the stone age within a matter of seconds.

‘The world escaped an EMP catastrophe,’ Henry Cooper, who now heads High Frontier, a group pushing for missile defence, told Washington Secrets.

‘There had been a near miss about two weeks ago, a Carrington-class coronal mass ejection crossed the orbit of the Earth and basically just missed us,’ added Peter Vincent Pry, who served on the Congressional EMP Threat Commission.

FYI, this story is not true. and other sites/scientists have confirmed it is false. The sun has been rather tame lately. An example how a made up/exaggerated story can spread on the internet. That said, a Carrington type event will happen and I hope it is not in my lifetime because humanity will suffer immensely.

I’m sure they would love to wipe out all of the digital records of banks, etc. and blame it on the sun. Conveniently after, for example, Hurricane Sandy destroyed all of those paper documents in the Water St. (wah-wah) vault last year. And maybe even more documents went up in smoke on behalf of JPM recently in the/their, uh, “vault fire” ?

Some people are trying to legitimately wake up the masses and some are selling fear porn. I don’t like stories that something almost happened. Please, really? I don’t care what almost happened. I know that a Carrington event is possible, that one happened in the 1800s in the U.S. and burned out all the frontier high tech telegraph equipment at the time, but it is like everybody knowing that L.A. is going to get hit by the “big one”, it is just unlikely to be now.

Prepare as much as you can and ignore the “it almost happened so really you shouldn’t lose interest and stop coming to my web site, i need the hits” porn.
