It is our own fault, and the fault of those who have come before us. One of our founding fathers said something like with government you always have to be diligent. Americans have always hoped each politician was on the up and up, with a moral compass. Unfortunately that has not always been the case. And to our crime we have kept electing those same morally bankrupt individuals time and time again to represent us. It is time with our next election, and those that follow, to vet each politician, find out how they voted on other issues before we elect them.
