Judge Denise Lind has today denied all motions to dismiss the various charges against Bradley Manning. The defense reasoned that the first charge of computer fraud simply did not apply to the type of use and access that Manning was permitted. The second charge of “aiding the enemy” was countered by the defense as based on circumstantial evidence and that the charge itself sets a dangerous precedent by suggesting that information given to the press outlets can be framed in a way to establish a link to any enemy of the U.S. who happens to access that information. Other charges were also litigated.
