Earlier this week Before Its News, SGT Report, ZD Net, CNET and InstaPundit were interrupted by malware hack attacks.
Today it appears to be the popular precious metals blog King World News’ turn.
As of 8:30 am central time, when using GOOGLE as the search engine, this malware warning screen is what you get when you try to visit King World News.com:
Remember that according to The New York Times, the Obama Administration has concluded that the President has the authority to launch preemptive cyber attacks.
The Progressive sums up the danger this way:

I can’t say it’s the govt who’s behind this although I wouldn’t put it pass them. Anonymous has been quite active lately. Until we find out where the attacks came from them we need to calm down.
Has anyone had updates to flash download or others sent to you, after having visited the site while in malware mode?
Interesting that you mentioned that because it happened to me this morning. Adobe Flash had crashed and tried to download the application. I refused it. I checked my Windows 8 error log and Flash did crash numerous times.

User location : France : I was redirected to a Youtube sexvideopage while using a SGTreport hyperlink from a KWN article . The link on the right side of the page did work, even if I have error messages. googling directly it don’t work at all today.

Google also did this to the daily Paul last year, coincidently on the day that their article was the number one search result about the merging of the Rockefeller and Rothschild investment firms. SGT, I have screenshots of this from that day as proof. Will email to you a bit later.
Google runs the malware registry and checking it is enabled by default in Firefox and chrome. Anyone who cares about privacy should disable this. It sends all of your web traffic to google to check web pages against the registry before you visit them, “for your own good”. Also disabling it will make these types of warnings go away – I never even noticed a disruption on sgtreport.

There are several products out there which can protect systems from being hacked. I use them on my personal pc’s and as an IT mgr (retired) where I worked with university computerized classrooms and labs. The two I use are Deep Freeze and Drive Shield. Research and see if it is right for you.

In Firefox open up Options click on the security icon and uncheck “block reported attack sites” and “block reported web forgeries”. There are similar options in chrome but I don’t have it in front of me
Just did what you said and disabled it through Firefox “options”. I can get on to King World no problem now.
Hopefully my security will be adequate to protect me from the threat (or “threat”).
Do not track Plus is a plug-in for Firefox that will kill the cookie trackers too. Also, use Peerblock for stopping known unfriendly IPs from accessing anything on your machine. Finally, consider investing in a hardware firewall to trap attackers in a switch loop. I would have these things in place at a minimum before even surfing the web.

Is Anonymous CIA or on our side? I’m confused. By now I would expect them to have taken down or caused serious damage to those in charge. I get tired of all their threats and see nothing happen or I’m just not getting the news that they have. In any event one has to protect their own computers.

Thanks for the tip, but I have done that, tried again, after which SGT site says that I have entered in a double comment…and then nothing shows up!
Oh well, I’ll consider it a big glitch in the system…I’ve even tried other browsers to no avail.
A lot of blogs will hold a comment to be approved by a moderator if it has more than a certain number of links in order to prevent comment spam.

When I access pages on KWN, my Norton firewall stops intrusion attempts pointing to a Russian site with references like lsor83ganiz.rr.nu (31.184.192.238).

I had downloaded King World news and printed it Thursday evening.
Friday early morning, I googled King World News to listen to an audio.
Google had a Warning.
I checked Yahoo. no warning.
To be safe,I opened up King World with my IE browser – it is on tighter security for all my financial transactions since Crome share purchace information.
My Windows 7 Enterprise rus 2 virus (malware) programs and requires acceptance of everything that gets downloaded.
Within seconds, with out warning, a redirect to a youtube – then bluescreen.
The previopus Saturday night, I had updted all Windows updtes. Run full disk security scans on all hard-drives, and made a full hard-drive backup. Plus point in time recovery.
Friday morning, I downloaded the latest malware profile, scanned and indeed had a new Trojan discovered. Removing it delayed the blue-screen but did not prevent it.
Re-scanned – no trojan – point in time recovery from previous Saturday – problem fixed.
In all the years of IT experience, I have never had this kind of thing happen.
While some sites blame Russians, be aware that it is easy to smurf the source.
It is true that King World went from a small blog years ago to a huge traffic site, the the level of this hack is huge.
Another note: my Android smart phone was not affected by this Trojan.
Microsoft announced a absolutely huge – massive 12 patches for 2/12/2013.
Microsoft is horrible at explaining why patches are released.
