Why collectivism is doomed and the next great crisis will massively shift America toward conservatism

by Mike Adams, Natural News:

There is a very good reason why people who live in cities tend to be liberal while those who live in rural areas tend to be conservative. In a city, the existence of nearby neighbors, the shared dependence on infrastructure and the close proximity of police stations automatically lends itself to a socialist mindset. On issues like guns, city people seem to be unable to imagine why anyone would “need” a rifle, for example, and because all guns scare them, they would prefer to force everyone across the country to turn them all in.

People who live in rural areas, in great contrast, have every reason to be more conservative and independent. Their local sheriff might be 30 minutes away in an emergency, meaning that self protection is truly up to you and can’t simply be delegated to someone else. Self-reliance means survival. In rural living, firearms are absolutely necessary tools to protect your animals from predators, eliminate varmints that are destroying your garden, and provide real security for legitimate threats to your safety. People who live in cities tend not to be able to understand these things because they can’t imagine country life.

Self-sufficient and independent is not the same as conservative. Conservative can also mean less willing to take a risk, less willing to be tolerant of others.

Thomas Jefferson was a classic liberal. Unfortunately he was also a hypocrite who talked about liberty while owning human beings in degradation and slavery.

Only libertarians seem get that economic conservativism mixed with minding your own business and being tolerant of others is compatible with true liberty. I don’t care what you do with your body or other consenting adults just don’t expect me to pay for it.

Conservatives take all the risk…with their own money. Liberals will take any risk as long as there is absolutely no loss financially to them. They expect everyone to share the risk. Share my ass, they want a free ride and are only able to hold it together in a collective…none can stand on their own.

Many of us stand on our own 2 feet and deal with everything that we face on our own. We solve our own dilemmas…then we may choose to find and join others like us.

I totally agree with your last line about “…body…adults…don’t…pay for it.” Yet the other day I believe it was you that “were liberal on social issues.”

      Sounds highly contradictory to me.

  • I think we are all in the same neighborhood and agree on the majority of issues.

Ro 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Le 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
