The Libertarian Party of West Virginia has teamed up with the West
Virginia Campaign for Liberty, the WV Tea Party and the WV Republican
Liberty Caucus in a petition drive to protect your Right to Bear Arms.
The purpose of the petition is to show support for the 2ND AMENDMENT
PRESERVATION ACT which is being introduced by Delegate Michael Folk (R)
63rd District and co-sponsored by Delegate Joshua A. Nelson (R) 23rd
District.
This Act prevents any additional federal infringement on the right to
keep and bear arms; nullifying all federal gun control laws created
after January 1, 2013 by asserting the 9th and 10th Amendments of the US
Constitution. The introduced Act also makes it a felony crime in
enforcement of all federal gun control laws created after January 1,
2013 at the federal, state and local levels with a penalty of 2 years
imprisonment and a fine of $20,000. Furthermore, this act compels the WV
Attorney General to defend any resident of West Virginia charged with a
violation of any federal gun control regulations or laws created after
January 1, 2013.
