Andy Hoffman of Miles Franklin joins us to discuss the end game for the United States and the world’s reserve currency, the dollar. What the FED announced on September 12th has launched AmeriKa on a fascist path of destruction from which it may never recover. In Part 2 we cover QE3 in detail, ECB Bond buying and the massive troubles of Japan. We also talk about Max Keiser’s prediction that a total global financial collapse will occur no later than April 2013.

and the asian version of a smackdown kicks in… below $34… well, I guess it’s one of life’s certainties.
Actually, I posted last week on this blog something to the effect that we have tripled the amount of awake people from 1%- 3%. I was trying to point out that you can look at it one way and say maybe triple the amount of people have woken up in the last year and that seems great on the surface, but on the other hand it’s still a tiny amount of people, a fraction really.
I am coming more and more to believe that people are not waking up because of two synergistic factors- normalcy bias and laziness. If the sheeple were to do an absolute minimal amount of research (and I usually write down blogs for them to make it easy for them) they could wake up. But it is much easier for them to be lazy and PRETEND that everything is going to go on as “normal.” Their thinking goes something like this– why work and research to find out things are not going to turn out well, when I can do nothing and pretend things will be OK. They kind of sense that things are going to go bad, but being lazy and playing with their gadget as a diversion allows them to pretend like a 3 year old that TPTB will make everything OK. We live in a “pretend society” (see the economy and false flags for example) made up of sheeple who like to pretend everything will be alright.
Thanks for all your hard work this week Sean. I always enjoy listening to Andy.
I think I remember your post about that – we just need to hit a tipping point against tyranny like we did against Monsanto’s BHG in the milk. Finally enough people rejected that crap and refused to buy it, that it was taken out of nearly ALL milk. Let’s keep working toward the tipping point, back towards liberty. Thanks Tom.
No one is waking up where I live no matter HOW MUCH I talk. People are going further and further for work. Most here now (Atlantic Canada) are working in the tar sands in Alberta. With changes to the employment insurance programs, it’s getting harder and harder for people to open, yet alone, keep a claim open. If anyone around here has any silver what so ever, they know not of it’s significance. I was going to give my in laws 1 silver oz coin for Christmas, but knowing their mind set it would be considered an insult. I can honestly say, that when I show my 8 year old autistic son a silver coin, he KNOWS it is SILVER.
Alvin,
I too was going to give some of my family a silver dollar (Eagle or Maple)for Christmas.
My Wife said they would likely be insulted by it as all they would see would be the dollar denomination – they would not understand what the coin actually was or the significance of the message (and sentiment) behind being given it as a gift. She raised a very valid point, but I may still go ahead as I wont feel I would have done my very, very best to wake them up to PM’s until I have forced some physical into their hands.
Maybe they will appreciate it more a few months from now (if they dont put it on eBay first!).
“If the sheeple were to do an absolute minimal amount of research (and I usually write down blogs for them to make it easy for them) they could wake up.”
But that’s just it, Tom. Sheeple are ALL about comfort and not about knowledge. We see this from time to time when movie or TV characters make a comment to the effect that, “I wish I didn’t know all this stuff. I wish that I could just be a normal person!”.
Most Sheeple could easily find out what’s what but they really do not want to know. If they don’t want to know, they have no interest whatever in doing any research that will bring these painful truths to light. No, for them it is better not to know what we know and to just float along pretending that all is well. You never know. Perhaps things WILL be OK for the near future and they can enjoy all that pretend time that we are trying to take from them.
We, of course, see it differently. We KNOW that time is extremely valuable… that the S is going to HTF… and that the time between now and then will be what we use to get as ready as we can. Being prepared is WAY better than not being prepared. But, of course, we KNOW that. They do not. For them, to prepare is to admit out loud that our world is about to turn to crap and that is something that they cannot grasp.
Thanks for another great interview Sean, I always enjoy them. On that note did you see my comment on your recent chat with James Turk about possibly getting Mike Maloney on to do an interview? I would love to hear that.. although I did hear that he was in a bad car crash recently.. I believe that he is ok.
I am frm Malaysia, I knew all the Elite craps just because there are still people like you all who keep posting on the internet. Keep on it. This is our only hope. In fact American play a crucial role to reverse these corrupted system – plaese keep waking people up – for all humanity. It is not a matter of like or don’t like, we just need to do it otherwise we all will die really really hard.
In malaysia less than 1% know about all these, but some of the muslims know but in Islam version. I will inform as many people as possible. ( some of them even think I am having some kind of mental problem)
siong,
Keep trying to wake your family and friends up, but do it gently. I think everyone who has tried to tell people how this world really works has been viewed as being at least a bit ‘odd’ if not ‘mad’.
Show people by your example and remember it is not you with some kind of mental problem it is actually the masses/herd/sheep.
As the philosopher Krishnamurti said, “It is no measure of (mental) health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society”.
Hello, Siong…
“some of them even think I am having some kind of mental problem”
Yes, you ARE having a mental problem. It is called “awareness”. You are aware of the fact that everything is not OK, that the world of fiat currency is falling apart all around us, and that silver and gold have been REAL money for more than 4,000 years, are real money today, and they always will be real money.
Many times throughout history, those who see what is happening in the world and who call the attention of others to it are often accused of mental instability. This is easier than having a reasoned discussion with them. The fact that it is incredibly inept on the part of those doing the accusing never seems to occur to them.
We all do what we can do about raising the awareness of our friends and family. In many cases, we do not succeed. But this does not mean that we should just give up. Awaken all whom you can, prepare for those you love but who will not prepare for themselves, and mourn for those who will not survive the coming collapse because they refuse to wake up and protect themselves. Evolution is not kind but it is relentless.
Great to learn that a fellow Malaysian is on this website and who’s AWARE!!!
SGT – Another outstanding interview. In fact, no, it was not so much an interview as a discussion between two very well informed and very knowledgeable people who genuinely do care about what happens to other people – wherever they are in the world.
Sean, you are doing outstanding work – how many people around the world has this site helped to ‘wake up’? I would guess in the thousands.
How many more thousands who are already ‘awake’ has this site helped to keep informed with real news? I for one visit this site at least once a day to help me stay up to date.
God bless you (and those helping you behind the scenes).
Anyone know how to post a photo in the corner next to your post I’m bored of being anonymous.
Great interview as usual.
Another great interview Sean… I especially enjoy the Ranting Andy interviews. As Andy stated that he believes eventually there won’t be any gold or silver to sell because what does exist will eventually disappear off the market. Just like Chris Duane has spoken about. This is why I’ve considered purchasing mining & gold/silver streaming stocks… but yet I think how will the mining industry survive an economic collapse if fuel prices become unaffordable and/or the transportation system comes to a screeching halt? How will shares be traded if their is no market? Then there’s they high chance of nationalization of mines to consider as well. These thoughts keep me in the physical only camp.
As for waking people up… I don’t bother anymore. I don’t say that to be selfish… I say it because to me it’s pointless and risk’s opsec on my part. The more people that you try to wake up unsuccessfully… the more people who will realize that you’re the guy/girl that prepared, the more people you’re going to have come to you in desperation looking to be taken care of. There’s a song by Cypress Hill that has the lyrics “When the shit goes down… you better be ready” that I live by. It’s hard for me to deal with family and friends who don’t get it… who think that everything will always be fine (normalcy bias). All I can do is prepare for myself & lay low when things get ugly. The thing is… we can’t save everyone… if anyone… people have to come to terms on their own or not at all.
Keep stack’n… hold strong & go long…
PBP
Thanks PBP, I don’t much try to wake people up any more either. ‘Cept here.
“…but yet I think how will the mining industry survive an economic collapse if fuel prices become unaffordable and/or the transportation system comes to a screeching halt?
My guess is that the miners will continue to produce gold and silver and that those who produce oil and its products will accept those in payment. Barter has existed since humans first came down from the trees, so in the event of a currency collapse, will re-establish itself rather quickly. We all have needs, some the same and some different, so we will be trading this for that amongst ourselves whether there is a government there to interfere with the process or not and whether or not there is an official currency available for it.
From ruining Christmas Eve dinner in 2004, when I was the resident ‘lunatic’, it has taken 8 solid years to wake up about half of my immediate / extended family and close friends. Even some business clients, which is in some ways more touchy, and others less.
After food, water and sanitation provisions, everything else is basically icing and a half dozen have taken such initiatives. Others are still deciding having only recently turned to their own research. Only one has had the nerve to get a large portion of their wealth out of the system besides my wife and I.
I know they don’t really want to believe me but that’s all well and good. A simple acknowledgement that if ‘tail risk’ actually occurs they’ll be mentally capable of weathering magnitudes better than people completely in denial.
Suffice it to say, simply discussing possibilities and hypothetical contingencies does make for rather interesting conversation even if not all members are in the wagon. It has provided a certain commonality long lost over time, business and distance. I was surprised by the older stubborn ones lending their ear after all this time poo-poo’ing it as fantasy.
Once again, thank you all and lets hope for the smoothest possible outcome. Information is the best tool to overcome shock and will expedite adaptation immeasurably.
“I was surprised by the older stubborn ones lending their ear after all this time poo-poo’ing it as fantasy.”
Yes, that is happening as more people see the things that we have predicted happening in the news. The cars are beginning to leave the track and it is becoming more obvious that we are, in fact, having an economic train wreck. As the situation becomes even more clear, there will be a lot less denial and more agreement. Many people will deny that there are pies flying through the air right up to the point when one hits them full in the face. THEN and only then does it becomes a reality that they can grasp.
Denial is a tough beast… hard to kill and remarkably agile and resilient. Silver bullets will do the job, though.
Yet another great interview, Sean. Andy is a terrific person to interview. The knowledge and experience he brings to these discussions is amazing. Well done to both of you!
As usual, another great interview.I believe “hell on earth” will happen when the people wake up.
Great stuff Sean, and may I say, that woeful 48 hours where the content wasn’t updated….was a vexing time.
Glad to see y’all posting new content again…you splice together so many great alternative media journalists, this site is really invaluable. Keep fighting!
Clint Eastwood (Dirty Harry to “punk” bank robber, on sidewalk, outside bank entrance): (Instead of saying, “So the question you have to ask yourself is: ‘Do I feel lucky’?, he says:) “So the question you have to ask yourself is: CAN I EAT PAPER? WELL, CAN YOU? – PUNK!”
You got it, Anon. When the SHTF for real there will be MANY people whose question will be, “Will I be able to eat at all?”. Prepping is the result of the realization that we are individuals who can and will care for ourselves, no matter how thin the support we have, for in the end, we ARE responsible for ourselves and our loved ones. Failing them is the ultimate failure that a person can have. It is not difficult to plan ahead. Buying extra food and storing water, meds, tools, ammo, and many other daily use items has only two possible outcomes: 1) the SHTF and you DESPERATELY need those items to survive and feed your family; or 2) the S does not HTF and you have spent a lot of money on things that you need and that are only going to get more expensive with time. Either way, it works out well. I am hoping that it is door #2 in this case but if it is door #1, well, I will be as ready as I can be and more ready than 95% of my fellow Americans. To do less than this is to shirk my responsibility as a father, husband, grand father, and man.
Just think how much better off America would be if our people would spend just 1% of their disposable income on stocking up on the basic necessities of life, rather than blowing that money on toys.
