The Staggering Majesty of the Heavens

As you try to recharge your battery this weekend, take a moment to consider our place in this glorious universe and reflect on our Divine, collective calling to stand for truth, justice and liberty as long as we reside on this pale blue dot. ~ SGT

Sadly very few understand the significance of these images, and even fewer our place in the Universe.

Even more sad is that the majority of people do not even want to try to understand what they are looking at. I have been showing people, on and off, the Deep Field image since the 90′s. Only a handful have even understood they are not looking at ‘a photo of some stars’, let alone grasped the implications and the profound nature of this image.

But hey, lets not contemplate such things, pour yourself a drink, grab a burger, and sit down in front of the TV – I hear the next PlayBox is out soon, there is 50% off various iCrap at the local store, and the next vampire movie is out next week – and, wait for it, we have won gold at the Olympics…………..

    And God created it all.

“He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.” Psalm 147:4

Tim is right and unfortunately for Carl Sagan, who popularized naturalism- which is the philosophical way to describe atheism- Carl Sagan has found out that he was wrong. We ARE a privileged planet because God has chosen to become a man and dwell among us and Jesus will return again as the Conquering King to reign probably in the not-to-distant future. So the contention in the video that there is no hint that anyone will save us on our tiny insignificant planet is wrong. This is what Sagan believed as a quintessential naturalist. The global elitists may win short term, but those of us who belong to the Lord (ALL things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made Jn.1:3- yes that includes our planet)will win in the end. Don’t be a sheeple and for heaven’s sake don’t be a big bad bankster. (ha,ha) I understand the crux of the video and understand what it is trying to get at. But you have to understand that it also propogandizes through subtle innuendo the philosophical view of naturalism which is an erroneous worldview. One of the major contentions of the Humanist Manifesto is that “no Deity will save us” which is written in their document and which if memory serves, Carl Sagan signed. This was stated explicitly in the video.

Totally Awesome Sean, thank you for sharing. I talk about these kind of facts all the time. The galaxy, universe and beyond are facts to behold. We are but a fraction of a speck of dust.

Sure puts it all in perspective doesn’t it? To think we wage wars and spill so much blood over so much nonsense. I hope that at the very heart of “Heaven” is this; upon death we will be given full access to the Universe, it’s endless grandeur and all of its secrets… “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

Sean– A beautiful Biblical and apropos reference to Christ’s return. The verse you referenced described what a Jewish bridegroom did, which was to prepare a place for his bride. When Christ told His disciples that He was going to prepare a place for them and that He was going to return- this was a reference to His future return to this planet to receive His bride- the Church. You are right- the video does put in perspective how ridiculous all of this bloodshed that has spilled over the millennia is. It will all be over soon. Hang in there.

Thanks for the video’s Sean. If anyone has an hour to watch a compelling documentary on our position in the universe and what it means and why we are located in a perfect place to observe everything around us in the cosmos then you might also want to watch this documentary called The Privileged Planet:

The Heavens declare his Majesty indeed! We are fearfully and wonderfully made and result of his workmanship.Carl Sagan was a very knowledgable individual “so called”.God says that knowledge puffs-up and makes proud. Also that He resists the proud and gives grace to the meek and humble.God says that unless a man has the faith of a child he will not enter his kingdom. Carl spent his life learning/seeking knowlege of the creation as opposed to the creator.2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.Stephen Hawkens, another proud individual, has said that the only god is the Force of Nature. It appears he too may never know the creator, however there is still time.
