“Americans renounced their citizenship in record numbers in 2011”

At least 1,788 Americans officially threw away their US citizenship in 2011, exceeding the totals from 2007, 2008 and 2009 combined. The Internal Revenue Service has been keeping a tally of US citizens driven to renouncing that title since only 1998, but last year’s number has officially raised the bar when it comes to calling America quits. What’s more, experts say, is that more and more Americans will soon be saying ‘sayonara’ to Uncle Sam if the federal government keeps up its trend of heavily taxing US citizens abroad.

    • SGT

I hate to admit it, but I think those 1,788 people are way ahead of the curve. The question is, how many of them are the upper 1/100th of wealthiest Americans? Meaning, are the “elite” the ones who are fleeing – or is it regular folks? I suspect it’s mostly the former.

      • dishesdealer417

I think everybody should keep it in the back of their minds that they may need to flee at some point. I think we should be more like the average citizen of mexico who are hard to take over because they have a committment to their real lives, families & culture. Their Manana attitude will only help them resist the elite.

I say drop out, they can’t starve you out if you grow your own food quietly. There aren’t enough of them. Of course some areas of the country will resist on a large scale and some will roll over like France in WWII (the french always surrender but they are incredibly good at occupied resistance, inflicting a lot of damage on the enemy). I think my area is good. People here already grow a lot of their own food and even in the Novel “One Second After” they showed the midwest as not having the same kind of damage. Plus this area was confederate and I do not support slavery but they don’t really like the Feds or the Revenooers who try to regulate the independent making of shine. I think moving is key if you aren’t already in a place that is survivable and will resist.

P.S. – SGT is that a Mitt Romney ad on your front page. Eeeeewwww. I haven’t had breakfast yet. Okay, you support the 1st amendment so you certainly have the right to give him equal space, but still Eeeeeeeewwwwww.

Great interview and very timely. Mr. Lendman seems to be a very genuine patriot.

Peaceful protest will not work this time. They have changed the rules so that you can now only protest in “free speech areas” and at large distances from people and events who matter (you don’t). When you’ve had a good shout and realise no-one was watching or even gives a sh#t (apart from to identify you and put you on a list)- then what?

They have the levers of power to collapse the economy and starve you into submission. If you do nothing they will take the county into collapse – that’s where you are headed – that’s where they want this to go – they want to destroy America, the idea of freedom and anything and everything associated with the notions enumerated in the Constitution. Your boarders will change and the Country will cease to exist.

Action is required. The Constitution demands it of you. Get deputized by your Sheriff or join a Sheriff lead militia (CSPOA).

They’ve ordered hundreds of millions of rounds of ammo, they’re taking delivery of at least 10 million rounds a month to meet their order deadlines. Re-education camps, NDAA, TSA, CISPA, on and on and on. What more evidence do you need? Watch what happens to Ron Paul, when they “take care” of him. Where then for peaceful protest, where then for a political means to resolve this?

Lets pray that Ron Paul does emerge the winner so we can avert the obvious end game.

The people who left this country are not ahead of the curve their cowards. When you believe in something you stay and fight for it.Where do these people think they are going to go where the long arm of the elite can’t reach them? They are delusional.Jolly Roger has got it right. When this dollar collapses and the federal government stays in tact, we will be in worse shape than before the collapse, because the people who perpetrated this collapse in the first place will still be in power. We need to physically remove these people from office, and I am talking about the corrupt senators and congressman who voted for all these draconian laws and who gave power to the bankers and the fed. Protest marches and sit-ins won’t change a thing. The mainstream media will slant those protest their way and make us look like the bad guys. Unless America gets off their asses where finished as a country. If the elite shut down the power grid, and turn off the cell phone service and GPS service, and the internet, how are Americans going to communicate with each other to organize? I see this ending badly for America. I hope I am wrong.

    • Phez

“the people who left this country are NOT ahead of the curve, THEY ARE COWARDS”…..You hit the nail on the head! I’m so disgusted in hearing or reading about “fleeing the country”. People need to grow some balls, use their brains that God gave them, and think ahead of the “curve”. Good grief already. People think the grass is so much greener on the other side, and it seems to be the easy way out, well that is what cowards do! Sure, people may be “fleeing the country”, but they are not the average person. These people most likely have lived “abroad” for a long time and are wealthy, able individuals. All the chatter I read and hear about for supporting and defending liberty and freedom, support Ron Paul, etc…then another article like this appears and makes me sick to my stomach! The conservative, libertarian, and freedom minded folks don’t think like this, so what that tells me, this site is littered with HYPOCRISY………..

The word that the Lord spake against Babylon (USA) and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

2 Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon (USA) is taken, Bel (statue of liberty) is confounded, Merodach (Illuminati bohemian Grove) is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.

3 For out of the north there cometh up a nation (Russia) against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.

4 In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the Lord their God.

5 They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the Lord in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

7 All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of justice, even the Lord, the hope of their fathers.

8 (Leave the USA those who have wisdom)Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks.

9 For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon (USA) an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows (missiles) shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.

10 And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the Lord.

        11 Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;

12 Your mother (Not so Great Britain) shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

13 Because of the wrath of the Lord it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon (USA) shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

14 Put yourselves in array against Babylon (USA) round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the Lord.

15 Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the Lord: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.

17 Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

18 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.

19 And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

20 In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

21 Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, saith the Lord, and do according to all that I have commanded thee.

22 A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.

23 How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!

24 I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the Lord.

25 The Lord hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord God of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

26 Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.

27 Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.

28 The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, the vengeance of his temple.

29 Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against the Lord, against the Holy One of Israel.

30 Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the Lord.

31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord God of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

32 And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

33 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.

34 Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

35 A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith the Lord, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.

36 A sword is upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.

37 A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.

38 A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

39 Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

40 As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the Lord; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

41 Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation (Russia), and many kings (China, India, Mexico, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba ..) shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

42 They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.

43 The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.

44 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

45 Therefore hear ye the counsel of the Lord, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.

46 At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations (NATO).

Excellent Interview SGT! Lendman is one of the good guys I really like his work. That said, I have been in this truth movement for quite a while I have researched far beyond the average person’s depth. Many people report the truth (symptoms) but never reveal the source of the cancer. They only go so far, (many are funded by this elite to switch blame or muddy the waters)
If one is honest and understands history he will come to the truth. We will never solve this problem for future generations if we are not honest.TPTB want to create chaos & then a solution, we must resist their solution! And recognize who is behind it. THAT IS KEY. Sometimes the truth is so painful on some level and opposes nearly everything we have been taught it seems implausible.

time for peaceful oppositon are over- have you really seen any posotive after effects from petitions, calling your ‘elected representatives’, peaceful demnstrations? anyone doing tht has been quickly demonized and effectively marginalized/ignored. the elitist agenda trumps the people. the globalists know we constitutionalists dont want to resort to the non peaceful options, knowing the consequences, hence they keep pushing for more and more. folks it is our constitutional duty to stand up for what is right and just, the forefathers expect it. enough of this illegimate govt. remember civil war is brother vs brother, thats not we are talking about here.. those in power have no interest in doing whats right for the people. i say enough of this, bring it.

I can’t believe REAL Americans are allowing obama to chase them out of their country. I’m glad our Founding Fathers didn’t run.
I have this feeling that we as a nation are going to see obama and soros as well as their thugs spending time in jail stripped of whatever citizenship they think they have and thrown out of the country after a long stay in jail. obama and his commie buddies have been allowed to over throw a nation while the average american did nothing. Only a handful stood up to tell the truth.
The average american deserves nothing because they refuse to stand up to this administration. They stand back and let the minority do the speaking out.

    Re. Webster Tarpley:

His positions are understandable when you have the full picture on his worldview. He’s an old-school FDR quasi-socialist when it comes to economic planning ideology. He’s in favor of large government participation and even ownership of the factors of production, not just government direct investment. Now, theoretically, this can be done in a way that’s “pure” (scare quotes used for good reason) and “visionary,” and in hopes of reasonable productivity. We have seen nothing of the sort in the last couple of decades for the most part. That is what is revolting to sound money advocates. Ultimately, as a general rule, the free market will do a better job allocating resources. But Austrian school thinkers that take the opposite extreme and claim that the government can’t create any job nor wealth, that it can only redistribute wealth, is just as much an absolutist dogmatic position as Tarpley failing to understand that there is wisdom and reason behind the arguments about austerity, a credit/debt market system gone wild, etc.

The old question about insufficient final demand, a Keynesian model framework through which to describe an economic downturn brings Tarpley firmly on the side of government participation to “fix” the problem. Tarpley is to be commended for at least calling for programs that would have a bigger impact on people, not banks, and programs that truly do represent long-term investments in the US economy that would, in turn, theoretically pay for themselves over time as return on those investments (education, true infrastructure spending, etc.) flowed back to the economy.

A pure Austrian economist would rather see a reduction of the consumption-driven basis of the US economy over time and a return to elevated savings rates driving investment, which would lead to productivity gains over time and economic growth. To the Austrian, like Peter Schiff and to some extent Ron Paul, the pain of getting off the drug of debt/credit market driven business cycles is a fair price to pay for honest, sustainable growth.

The biggest dividing line shows up on the issue of the welfare state. Tarpley is sympathetic to keeping things in place — if not expanding the state. Austrians look at the US unfunded liabilities as nothing more than a black hole sucking in future monetization of the debt and a waste of resources to even try to put band-aids on the system.

As usual, truth is found with some shades of grey from each camp. For example, it wouldn’t be wise to go totally cold turkey on the welfare state overnight (and Ron Paul doesn’t advocate for that, as this SGT Report correctly points out that Paul is talking about a roll-back to 2007). But it wouldn’t be wise to continue with the way things are going right now either.

Bottom-line: Tarpley is a brilliant historian because he’s open to placing into context the conspiratorial elements of power — and he does it well. But he does have more rigid ideological proscriptions for fixing things.
